My Story
Rev. Ralph Mansfield Crowder was born October 19, 1957 in Houston, Texas. He is a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, where he was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He married his loving and devoted wife, the former Selena Deaver, on September 17, 1977. Two beautiful children were born to this union; Roslyn Terre, who resides in Los Angeles, California, and Rodney Crowder, who serves as a musician at Club Creek.
Pastor Crowder accepted Christ at the age of 7 and was baptized at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Junior Deacon under the leadership of the late Pastor C.G. Wilkins. He joined the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in 1981 and was ordained as a Deacon on October 4, 1987. While at New Bethel, Pastor Crowder served in a number of ministries, including Financial Secretary, President of the Benevolence Committee, Brotherhood, Male Chorus, Evangelism Director, New Member Orientation Teacher, and a host of other Christian duties as the LORD led him.
He acknowledged his call to the ministry in 1990 and was licensed to preach on October 14, 1990. Pastor Crowder served as an associate minister at New Bethel for 4 years before being named Interim Pastor in November of 1994. He served as Interim Pastor until July of 1995 and then as Presiding Minister from July of 1995 until October of 1995.
He then received a vision from the Lord in July of 1996 and established Clubcreek New Life Community Baptist Church, where he has served faithfully as Pastor for the last 24 years. Pastor Crowder completed a number of classes at Houston Bible Institute, now the College of Biblical Studies - Houston, where he received his Teacher Training Track Certificate.
